BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Mainframe COBOL Developer for an opportunity in Remote.


Position Title: Mainframe COBOL Developer

Location: Remote

Anticipated Start Date: Tentative start Date 09/01/2024

Expected Duration
: 08 Months with a Strong possibility of Extension

Job Type: Contract [FULL TIME (>=40 HRS WEEKLY)], [CONTRACT], [REMOTE]

Pay Range: $39.84/hr - $41.05/hr

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:

• 5+ years in development new and enhancement and maintenance of existing applications in Mainframe Cobol, JCL, CICS, VSAM. IDCAMS, IBM Utilities and 1+ years of DB2 SQL coding and DB2 Utilities.


• Experienced in working as a team member and independently in all stages of software development: detailed design, code, test, test results presentation, production deployment, and providing on-call production support.


• Familiar with file exchange protocols NDM, FTP, and understand mainframe integration with modern technology platforms.


• Experience in Expeditor or Intertest or related debugging tools.


• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, or any medical insurances is a plus.


• ISPW and Control-M is a plus.
