Job Description:

Position OverviewAttend to the audio needs of departmental productions and events. Mix live productions. Produce sound effects for departmental productions.
Job Description30% - Serve as Sound board operator for mainstage productions (mostly evening hours)
20% -Configure, test and troubleshoot audio systems.
20% - Produce sound effects and music for departmental productions.
10% - Schedule and be present approximately 10 hours/week during regular business hours.
10% - Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications

1. Familiarity with basic audio systems used in a theatrical environment.


2. Familiarity with microphone techniques used in theatre.


3. Able to operate independently and make aesthetic judgements.


4. Comfortable working at heights from ladders, lifts and grids.


5. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly)

Preferred Qualifications

1. Familiarity with Qlab.


2. Familarity with ProTools, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing and production software.
