Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:



  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, climbing, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel or equivalents and portable electronic communication devices.

  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience using inventory management database programs and/or warehouse experience.

  • Proficiency in managing work orders and/or maintenance management systems.

  • Ability to operate a 1-ton truck and single-axle trailer.

  • Experience with light carpentry, maintenance, and/or furniture repair.

  • Ability to perform basic math and use trade-specific tools (i.e., pallet jacks, moving equipment, hand tools).





Job Description:

The Warehouse Worker position with
Housing and Residential Life
assists with the distribution of supplies and equipment for Housing Facilities Services to ensure timely services to students and staff. In addition, the position assists with the supervision of student staff. They also assist in efficiently managing warehouse space for maintenance, custodial, and furnishings for the Department of Housing and Residential Life, receiving materials, and disposing of surplus goods.


Job Duties:


Customer Service


  • Completing work orders supplying support for residents and Housing Facilities Services staff.

  • Assistance with furniture set-ups, re-sets, and general preparation for special projects.



Inventory Management

  • Organizing, retrieving, and delivering stock.

  • Removal and documentation of surplus goods.

  • Yearly inventory and audits of university housing furniture.

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of furniture.


Grounds Services

  • Maintain DHRL courtyard facilities free of trash and debris.

  • Assist in weatherizing facilities during inclement weather events.


Fleet Management

  • Assist with vehicle transports to and from the university garage for repairs and maintenance.

  • Assist with the preventative maintenance of the Housing and Residential Life fleet.

  • Other duties as assigned.
