Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Manager in Annapolis, MD.

Duties Include:

• Accounting Manager will manage/coordinate the month-end close process


• Assist in the preparation of the financial statements, including budgets & forecasts


• Prepare and record monthly journal entries and completes monthly balance sheet account reconciliations


• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for financial statement preparation and audit purposes


• Assist in maintaining all accounting files and records for multiple Companies/Subsidiaries


• Monitor monthly inventory transactions for accuracy and appropriateness and report on operating variances from established standards for material, labor, and overhead


• Responsible to ensure proper delegation of duties and internal control exist within the Accounting & Finance Department


• Manage the Fixed Asset Accounting System (SAGE/FAS); Maintain and implement required internal controls to safeguard the company's fixed assets; Coordinate the Capital Expenditure Authorization procedure


• As an Accounting Manager, you will maintain General Ledger Chart of Accounts


• Manage the year-end closing process; Assist in the planning of the annual physical inventory, calculate the physical to book adjustment and coordinate the year-end audit with the outside accounting firm


• Ensure there are sufficient accruals for all customer selling programs - rebate, co-op advertising, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed


• Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
