Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT - Application Development Project Manager in Miramar, FL.
Summary:
The Application Dev Project Manager manages a team of business analysts, infrastructure and software engineers constructing and maintaining mission-critical, high-visibility applications and hardware in direct support of company business objectives. The ideal candidate for this role has as an Application Development background in addition to a deep and modern project management foundation (Waterfall and Agile). The App/Dev Project Manager is expected to continually evolve internal development processes/procedures, effectively manage a team of 5 - 20 software engineers and deliver projects on time and on budget.
Key Tasks:
Determine the project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule
Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost using stablished estimating models, best practices, and past experience; The resulting estimates account for all activities in the project scope, including project management and application development tasks, software quality assurance reviews, and vendor and contract management activities
Define team member roles and expectations, and ensure timely feedback; Ensure that project resources receive any necessary training and are used effectively
Review, and be responsible for, the overall development and integration of requirements
Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations; Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk; Make adjustments as necessary
Define the project iterations strategy; Manage and evaluate iterations
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Plan, including the configuration management, risk management, project measurement, and quality management plans
REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years of waterfall project management experience
1-3 years of Agile/Scrum Master experience
Desired Skills
Project Management Professional certification preferred
Scrum Master certification preferred
5+ years of experience in Project Management (Waterfall and Agile methodology), preferably in a technical environment
Must have experience dealing with outside Vendors
Must have solid understanding of full project life cycle and management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
Must have excellent communication (oral and written) and interface effectively with all levels of management as well as the technical team, and concisely, logically, and accurately present issues verbally and in written format
Strong problem-solving, supervisory experience, and team leadership skills
Must be a strong team player and have good interpersonal and collaborative skills
Fosters a team environment and demonstrates the ability to promote the team environment, yet work individually on each person's skill development
Must possess excellent organizational, time management, judgment, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Reliable, self-motivated, and focused on high quality delivery of work products; Willing to accept responsibility and accountability
Outstanding motivational, people and task management skills
Ability to work well with a wide variety of people with varying technical skill sets and business knowledge is required (from the very abstract to the very granular)
Proven team leadership or project management experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
