RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Maryland Heights, MO.

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator proficient in MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining our databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability. This role involves working closely with development teams to design and implement efficient database structures, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure data security and integrity.

Responsibilities:

• The PostgreSQL Database Administrator will design, implement, and maintain database architectures


• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools


• Monitor database performance and capacity, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and other issues


• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability


• Optimize database queries and indexes for improved performance


• Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and data models


• Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements


• Perform database migrations and upgrades as needed


• As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner


• Create and maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies


• Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field


• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL


• Strong understanding of database design principles


• Proficiency in database installation, configuration, and administration


• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques


• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies


• Experience with database security best practices and compliance requirements


• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment


• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Relevant certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA, PostgreSQL Certified Professional) are a plus


• Experience and strong knowledge of building, automating, and deploying instances in cloud and infrastructure environments on Amazon Web Service

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database clustering and replication technologies


• Knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database, Google Cloud SQL)


• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)


• Experience with database automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)


• Understanding of NoSQL databases and distributed systems concepts

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
