The Software Developer in Test is responsible for ensuring the highest level of product quality through the execution of medical device software verification and validation activities.


This role is well-suited to a quality focused, ambitious professional. As a Software Developer in Test the selected candidate will:


• Collaborate with stakeholders such as Product Owners, Test Leads and Requirement Engineers to develop project verification plans.


• Analyze requirements and specifications to define test cases.


• Write integration and acceptance tests.


• Conduct system analysis and verification activities including embedded operating systems and other third-party SW hosting proprietary medical device SW


• Verify implementation of communication protocols and troubleshoot network issues for Data Management applications.


• Perform requirements verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete and conform to standards.


• Develop test libraries and test strategies for the system and conduct system software testing.


• Identify opportunities for and prepare automated tests.


• Develop test cases that, when executed, generate objective evidence.


• Manage the test development lifecycle within an Application Lifecycle Management solution such as Azure DevOps


• Prepare test reports and report defects.


• Work within an Agile Scrum environment (where required)



Experience and requirements for success in this role:



• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical degree


• 3+ years as software test engineer or software developer with medical devices preferred.


• Understands testing principles and relevant regulatory guidelines.


• Quality focused and innate attention to detail


• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.


• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment.



Preferred skills:



• Familiarity with design controls and medical device software development


• Test architecture and test design experience.


• Familiarity with test automation techniques and tools


• Knowledge of Azure DevOps tools


• SAFe familiarity and practical experience


• Awareness of highly regulated operating environment (FDA/QMS/ISO)


• Working knowledge of Test Management software


• Knowledge of networking, security and communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), routers


• Detailed knowledge/experience with testing approaches and methodologies


• Holds ISTQB or similar testing certification(s)


• Good written and communication skills
