Th Program Manager must have the ability to manage and oversee all operations of the Porterville Wellness Center and ensure the attainment of contractual goals and outcomes through a lens of Wellness and Recovery.

How will I contribute
Responsible for coordinating program operations and delivery of peer support wellness groups and activities for the consumers served. Provide program activities and development of action plans in coordination with Volunteer and Activities Coordinator. Oversee the coordination and sustainability of a healthy consumer volunteer program with Volunteer and Activities Coordinator. Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to multi-disciplinary staff. Ensure program and contract adherence to wellness and recovery values. Must exhibit a willingness to let consumers take the lead in their own Wellness and Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). Must be skilled in diffusing conflicts among consumers and peer support and mentoring self-regulation skills. Submit incident reports in a timely manner per the contract. Model patience, tolerance and kindness towards consumers and peer support specialist. Provides face to face support, encouragement and peer counseling to members and staff on a variety of life issues related to wellness and recovery. Plan and actively participate in all key Visalia Wellness Center events. Work side by side with consumers, community partners, agencies, and clinics to gather feedback to determine if support and growth needs are being met. Be an advocate for reducing stigma related to mental illness as well as cultural humility in working with diverse populations. Responsible for staff timecards, timecard edits, and timecard submission in a timely manner. Attending all community, county, or corporate meetings pertaining to Visalia Wellness Center. Identify the need for and develop proposed changes in current program practices, policies and procedures. Develop and monitor short and long-range budget plans that accurately reflect program needs. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with outside organizations and companies. Conducts interviewing for all positions available. Plans and oversees the proper training, development and supervision of all assigned program staff. Manage and oversee the day to day operation and overall service delivery. Facilitating weekly supervisor meetings and monthly all staff meetings. Develops and presents orientation and ongoing training to staff. Appraises staff performance and recommends and implements disciplinary/corrective action as necessary. Exposure to indoor and outdoor activities in all-weather/seasons. Assist in securing and providing transportation as needed.

What I bring
BA in a human service-related field with 2 years experience working in a related field / setting (community based, social services, behavioral health, school based or residential setting). Advanced experience may be substituted in lieu of degree on a year-to-year basis. Class C Driving License Must have an understanding of Mental Health related issues and disorders knowledge and or experience. Speaking Talking to others to convey information effectively Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Judgment and Decision Making Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Time Management Managing one's own time and the time of others. Writing Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Active Learning Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Social Perceptiveness Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Monitoring Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Able to manage others in a supportive and encouraging manner, as well as building relationships with community partners. Ability to direct and manage in a positive leadership fashion Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
