Your new company


I am partnered with a northern New Jersey General Contractor and Construction Manager that provides pre-construction, construction management and design-build services from the initial conceptual budget through the completion and maintenance of any new facility.


For the past 15 years, this firm has serviced the New Jersey, New York, and eastern Pennsylvania market with them growing year-on-year. They are looking to continue this expansion and seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join the team.



Your new role


As a Construction Estimator, you will be competent in reading construction drawings and schematics, breaking down the scope of work and completing quantity take-offs across all trades inclusive of MEP's. You will manage all RFI's and RFP's and liaise with the Project Management team, Architects, and Owners in attending pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs.


You will have strong subcontractor networks throughout the tri-state area and be able to effectively manage incoming sub-pricing and quotes. You will be responsible for value engineering in compiling complete cost estimates for submission.



What you'll need to succeed


The successful individual will have at a minimum 5 years' prior Estimating experience and be comfortable in bidding on commercial construction projects valued to $5M. The ideal individual will hold a construction related degree in either Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering.


Having experience with Microsoft Office, On Screen Take Off, Smart bid and CMIC is a plus.
