Looper

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Looper Operator include, but are not limited to the following:

§ Obtains written and verbal instructions from lead operator and/or supervisor.

§ Operates controls and adjusts the alignment of the machine and the thickness to be cut.

§ Identifies required foam and preps buns of foam for cutting.

§ Inspects the Looper for any mechanical problems.

§ Loads core on the wind-up roller to wind roll(s) of foam; Resets and monitors counter.

§ Observes flow of foam to detect any quality defects, reports it to the shift supervisor and make necessary adjustments.

§ Notifies the shift supervisor or maintenance of any unusual problems during operation.

§ Checks daily schedule for errors or any process errors.

§ Operates the Looper according to established Safety and Environmental procedures.

§ Completes preventive maintenance as scheduled to ensure safe and proper operating conditions.

§ Cross training in other positions as required.

§ Follow all general safety regulations, uses provided safety equipment as required.

§ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance.

§ Practice and maintain 5s philosophy by maintaining area/equipment clean, well-ordered, and organized.

§ Promotes teamwork & cooperation through the use of Lean tools, WPS, TWI, Book Club, 5S, TPM, etc., as well as support and promote the participation of Natural Work Teams.

§ Perform additional duties as assigned by shift supervisor.

Qualifications

§ Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required

§ Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

§ Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

§ Mechanical/ skilled trade experience preferred

Education / Experience

§ Minimum High School graduate or equivalent.
