Function of Position:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) & Home Health Aid (HHA) Program Coordinator/Instructor reports to the Director, Healthcare Programs. The coordinator assures/organizes all things related to program certification/approval/reporting, day-to-day operations, instruction, and the clinical experience. The coordinator will work with the Director to support student enrollment, completion, and testing for program participants. In addition to oversight, the coordinator will also have instruction and clinical responsibilities.
Flexible work hours are mandatory to meet program needs.

*This is a temporary position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of College budget and performance reviews. This position is eligible for paid time off and benefits.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates all day-to-day operations of CNA and HHA program to include the coordination of classrooms, classroom instruction, assessments, tracking attendance, and coordinates clinical scheduling, site paperwork and communications to ensure compliance.
    • Maintains collegial relationships with clinical faculty and meets all requirements of clinical facility.
  • Supports student registration, advisement, and alignment of support services for students in the CNA and HHA programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Teaches courses and clinical instruction, provides instructional oversite and evaluates student performance per guidelines set by the department, MCC, and NYS, ensures compliance with all reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Coordinates program review, evaluation, makes suggestions of adjustments to program delivery and implementation for improved program and student outcomes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Stays current in nursing and actively participates in professional development.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid NYS RN license.
  • Earned bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally-accredited higher education institution.
  • Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience with minimum of 2 years long-term care or care of chronically ill.
  • Previous teaching experience or approved train-the-trainer.
  • Strong communication and and organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to clinical sites as needed.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college and Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services (EDIWS).
  • Experience in and understanding of non-traditional pathways and serving diverse populations of students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated successful training experience, evaluating nursing programs and curriculum outcomes, and program improvement planning desirable.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.


Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $77,000 to $80,000 and is based on these mentioned factors.
