Position Title: SVP, Compensation & Talent Mgmt

Location: Des Moines, IA, United States

Description:
The SVP, compensation & talent management leads the design, development, coordination and evaluation of Berkshire Hathaway Energy's talent management framework and programs, annual compensation review, administration of the nonqualified compensation and benefit plans and facilitates BHE-wide alignment of human resources standards and programs.

Responsibilities:
Provides strategic support for all aspects of Berkshire Hathaway Energy's human resources programs and initiatives. Evaluates current successes and opportunities and develops human resources strategic direction that aligns with long-term business plans. Achieves buy-in from stakeholders to drive the implementation of those strategies across the Berkshire Hathaway Energy platforms. Monitors results and refines plans as needed.

Leads the design, development, coordination and evaluation of Berkshire Hathaway Energy's talent management framework and programs including core leadership and individual expectations, leadership and career development, succession management and performance management.

Leads the annual compensation review and development of compensation committee materials. Leads administration of the nonqualified compensation and benefits plans and related compliance.

Lead the development, evaluation, communication, implementation and administration of merit pay plans, salary structures, incentive plans and variable pay plans, to maintain internal equity while ensuring compensation remains competitive to attract, retain and motivate employees across platforms.

Develops and facilitates BHE-wide alignment of human resources standards and programs across the employee experience. Evaluates and tracks related metrics.

Leads the human resources due diligence efforts and serves as resource for cross-business human resources activities.

Lead recruiting and selection strategies and processes to fill vacancies for corporate groups. Monitor and analyze turnover to develop and implement strategies for employee retention. Responsible for the handling employee relations matters. Conduct investigations and complete related follow up in response to employee complaints and ethics and compliance hotline reports.

Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Ten years of progressive related experience, including five years supervisory/management responsibilities.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Must be a self-motivated individual who is flexible and can effectively manage several projects at the same time.

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
