Description: Performs duties in connection with the operation, maintenance, testing, inspection, calibration, installation, repair and removal of associated equipment at Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquid Propane Plant (LP) facilities.
Responsibilities: Typical Duties
Performs work in safe manner. Complies with all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures. Performs all work that they are qualified and trained to do in a manner to protect themselves, fellow employees and the public from injury.
Operates, checks, and maintains purification & liquefaction, vaporization, truck transfer, and all related process equipment in the LNG and/or LP plants.
Operates and monitors LNG/LP plants instrumentation for proper plant operation in regard to temperatures, pressures, flows, levels, etc. Reads and/or records operating data to maintain necessary plant logs. Analyzes data and makes adjustments to controls to provide safe and efficient operations.
Trouble shoots instruments and controls. Makes routine and other tests and checks of controls and instruments.
Tests, calibrates safety equipment, safety devices, relief valves, etc. for proper operation. Checks piping, equipment, and storage tanks for leakage.
Performs operating and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment. Performs maintenance and overhaul of equipment, including minor non-certified welding and flame cutting. Installs new equipment, replacement part such as bearings, solenoids, thermostats, switches, thermocouples, recording equipment; pneumatic and electric controller, gauges, etc.
Performs all de-energized electrical maintenance within LNG and propane plants on all voltages up to and including 480V AC & low voltage DC systems.
Unloads LNG/LP, and refrigerant to storage tanks in the LNG/LP plant.
Performs housekeeping duties throughout the plant and grounds to maintain safe working conditions.
Performs assigned security duties according to plant security plan.
Completes required physicals and training to comply with Department of Transportation and Office of Pipeline Safety regulations.
Purchase materials as directed.
Performs process control maintenance, perform routine testing of software control functions, identify and recommend software changes, maintain process control communication systems, perform hardware maintenance as directed. Where appropriate, may assist Plant Technician in making changes within the software, to process controls and related equipment as directed.
Maintains work area in a neat, orderly and safe condition.
