JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Supply Chain Systems and Engineering is responsible for supervising the design, implementation, and optimization of supply chain systems and engineering processes across Chedraui USA's supply chain operations and warehouses. This role involves leveraging technology, data analytics, and engineering principles to enhance supply chain efficiency, visibility, and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, systems engineering, and project management, with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in supply chain operations.



DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

The Director of Supply Chain Systems and Engineering supervises and coordinates associates performing supply chain systems and engineering processes across Chedraui USA's supply chain operations and warehouses. This role involves leading and motivating a team of associates, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), overseeing inventory control processes, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating logistics activities, collaborating with customer service teams, identifying process improvement opportunities, leveraging warehouse management systems (WMS), and driving continuous improvement initiatives.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



Operations Supervision and Team Leadership:





  • With respect to associates in assigned supply chain areas, either directly or through independent recommendation: hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, and/or responsibly direct associates and/or adjusting associate grievances.

  • Supervise and coordinate supply chain systems and engineering processes for supply chain operations

  • Train, evaluate, and motivate supervised associates to accurately execute supply chain performance, logistics, inventory control, safety protocols, and improvement initiatives.


Performance Management and Inventory Control:





  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chains systems and processes.

  • Continuously monitor and ensure adherence to established KPI's

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to meet operational targets for productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, stock replenishment, and inventory accuracy checks.


Safety Compliance and Logistics Coordination:





  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation scheduling, dock management, and carrier coordination.


Customer Service and Process Improvement:





  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address customer inquiries, resolve order discrepancies, and ensure exceptional service levels in distribution operations.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in warehouse operations, implement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity.


Technology Utilization and Continuous Improvement:





  • Leverage warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and other tools to optimize inventory tracking, order processing, and warehouse efficiency.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain systems and engineering, leveraging data analysis and feedback from stakeholders.



Education/Training/Experience/Skills:





  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Seven years of experience supervising employees in supply chain management, systems engineering, and project management context.

  • Certification in project management, supply chain management, or relevant technology platforms (e.g., PMP, APICS, Six Sigma) is preferred.

  • Strong technical background and knowledge of supply chain systems and technologies, including ERP, WMS, TMS, business intelligence, and data analytics tools.


Skills:





  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex supply chain challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive results.

  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Bilingual in Spanish highly desired.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position is both office based, and warehouse based. The office is situated in a standard warehouse setting and, in a climate-controlled environment. Supervising on the warehouse floor requires work throughout various parts of the multi-temperature warehouses.


The warehouse is a multi-temperature warehouse environment where the temperatures vary considerably:




  • General indoor warehouse temperature is partially dependent upon the outdoor temperature.

  • Chill/Produce refrigerated coolers are maintained at 40-45 degrees.

  • Frozen refrigerated coolers are maintained between 0 and 25 degrees.

  • Some of the cold environments require special uniforms.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.
