JOB SUMMARY:
The Frontline Manager will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of assigned areas within a multi-temperature warehouse environment. The role will involve managing associates performing multi-temperature warehouse operations and logistics activities to ensure efficient and accurate distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in distribution management, and a commitment to excellence in customer service and operational performance. The facility supports day and/or night, weekend and holiday shifts.



DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
The Frontline Manager supervises and coordinates associates performing all warehouse activities within assigned distribution areas, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. This role involves leading and motivating a team of associates, while providing coaching, training, and performance feedback. The Frontline Manger identifies process improvement opportunities and enforces safety and quality assurance standards, ensuring adherence to established KPIs. Additionally, this person supervises associates performing inventory control processes and logistics activities, while collaborating with customer service teams and managing budgets and vendor relationships.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Warehouse Operation Supervision and Team Leadership





  • With respect to associates in assigned distribution center areas, either directly or through independent recommendation: hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, and/or responsibly direct associates and/or adjusting associate grievances.

  • Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities within assigned distribution areas.

  • Train, evaluate, and motivate supervised associates to accurately receive, store, pick and/or ship product.


Performance Management and Process Improvement:





  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned distribution areas.

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline workflows.


Inventory, Vendor, and Budget Management:





  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting and stock replenishment.

  • Minimize stockouts, overstock situations, and shrinkage.

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline workflows.


Safety Compliance:





  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.



Education/Training/Experience/Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Three to five years of experience supervising employees in a distribution management context or a similar role, with experience in chill and/or frozen operations a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and logistics best practices.

  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is a plus.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position has a desk in a distribution center office, but the position requires significant time supervising on the warehouse floor. The office is situated in a standard warehouse setting and is in a climate-controlled environment. Supervising on the warehouse floor requires work throughout various parts of the multi-temperature warehouse.


The warehouse is a multi-temperature warehouse environment where the temperatures vary considerably:




  • General indoor warehouse temperature is partially dependent upon the outdoor temperature.

  • Chill/Produce refrigerated coolers are maintained at 40-45 degrees.

  • Frozen refrigerated coolers are maintained between 0 and 25 degrees.

  • Some of the cold environments require special uniforms.


COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $67,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.
