Lab Pack Chemist at Clean Earth in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description:

The Lab Pack Chemist at Clean Earth, located in Raleigh, NC, is responsible for ensuring the proper off-site treatment and disposal of hazardous waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies. This role involves handling hazardous materials, performing onsite services, preparing waste shipments, completing documentation, and promoting health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, identify, segregate, and package hazardous waste materials according to Lab Pack policies and regulations.
• Perform onsite services such as waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety/compliance inspections.
• Assist other business groups as needed, both internally and onsite.
• Prepare shipments of packaged waste, including inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading into transport vehicles.
• Complete required documentation, including shipping papers, evaluations, and certifications, in accordance with regulations.
• May require obtaining and maintaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement.
• Follow and promote health and safety procedures, including developing on-site Health & Safety plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in General Science or equivalent experience.
  
• Driver’s License with a clear record.
• Capable of moderate to extensive travel, including 20% overnight travel.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials exceeding 55 lbs.
• Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/BA in a science-related field.
