Position: Senior Software Engineer



Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086



Duties: Work with a small groups of six to ten engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents and direction. Implement new architectural patterns; and performing design reviews of changes. Address production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause). Engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation. Work with junior team members by guiding them on application code walk through, code review and helping them to understand application architecture. Create POC, Gap analysis on business requirements, providing estimation, coding, code review, peer review, collaborate with testing team and other cross functional teams to deliver high quality product according to Samsclub standards. Participate in application architecture meetings, creating the Service Now tickets for change requests and providing knowledge transfer to production support teams.



Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.



Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API using Java. Experience in Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and implementation. Experience with Java development and Analysis. Experience working in Spring, Spring boot and Hibernate. Experience in Authentication protocols including Oauth 2.0 and SSO. Experience working in Cloud technologies. Experience working in micro service architecture. Experience in using project management tools including JIRA and Confluence. Experience in Continuous integration and deployment process using tools including Bamboo. Experience in writing technical specifications, program documentation, and unit test plans for all work performed. Experience in building containerized application using technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.




Salary Range: $174,518/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
