Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This is a HYBRID position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) that requires up to 30% regional travel.

Your Role at Leidos QTC Health Services:


As a Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and incorporating clinical educational programs based on assessed learning needs for clinical staff and patients through evidenced-based research and peer reviewed articles.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Works collaboratively with the executive clinical and nursing leadership and to assess, develop, and maintain clinical staff competencies to ensure the provision of quality care.

  • Manages and provides educational leadership to clinical staff to enhance specialized patient care within the established healthcare setting for the organization.

  • Provides clinical and informatics educational support to all clinical staff using a variety of educational services to enhance the effective learning of all clinical staff.

  • Provides staff development through 1:1 sessions as needed for staff requiring further remediation/training and assistance to optimize critical thinking and improved clinical competency skills.

  • Initiates skills and develops programs within the parameters of established care models through research of evidenced-based clinical and educational articles and monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with national, state, and local authority quality standards and parameters.

  • Performs nursing duties as required, including but not limited to, conducting health screenings (e.g. health history, physical assessment, drug screening and other updates); administers vaccines/injections, performs vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy to meet the organizational needs.

  • Educates and develops technical training for all patient–facing clinical staff in the use of new medical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.

  • Plans and coordinates all initial and recurring clinical training for clinical staff.

  • Ability to follow protocol-based care from executive clinical and nursing leadership authority.

  • Collaborates with executive clinical and nursing leadership in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.



  • Proven ability to operate in a highly regulated environment.

  • Proven ability to work in a calm and collective manner even in potentially high stress environments.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, PII, and Chain Of Command protocols.


Required Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university.

  • 5 years of overall nursing experience with 3 years in nursing education specifically.

  • Must possess a current, active, and unrestricted nursing license and be eligible to obtain a full, unrestricted multi-state NLC license

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred


Work Schedule and Location:



  • Generally M-F (8am-430pm)

  • Located at Centerview Admin Bldg 4538 Centerview Dr. Ste 200, San Antonio, TX 78228, USA


Pay and Benefits:


Pay Range: $45.00-$50.00 per hour w/ up to 6% bonus eligibility.
