JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and manage all aspects of Empire's Mining Product Support Sales Operations within Empire's service territory. Personally, maintain and enhance Empire's position as a premier mining product support sales organization as measured by client loyalty, market share, employee satisfaction, and profitability. Provide leadership to identify and develop new growth opportunities to increase Empire's business with the mining clients. Personally, engage and promote large mining product support opportunities. Work closely with Empire's management teams to promote synergy between the unique needs of the mining markets and operational goals and objectives. Actively engage, develop, and promote teamwork and collaboration within all areas of direct and indirect responsibility. Develop a strong product support sales team that is actively building client relationships, optimizing the mining clients' business, and growing sales and market share.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


  • Supervise, select, train, assign and direct product support sales personnel to meet established goals.
  • Ensure strong mining client relationships at the site and corporate offices.
  • Develop optimal product support sales volume.
  • Direct the profitable sale of all Empire product support offerings and services applicable to the mining industry.
  • Ensure future strategic business plans, objectives, and annual forecasts are submitted to and approved by start of fiscal year (FY).
  • Maintain a well-trained, productive, engaged, and profitable sales force.
  • Administer the product support sales compensation plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish relationships with appropriate Caterpillar personnel.
  • Maintain knowledge on all product support sales business systems, product support sales reporting, and stays abreast of technology to enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Ensure client complaints are satisfied within company guidelines, to the satisfaction of the client, and within the time frame expected by the client.
  • Ensure Empire is aware of and in a position to capitalize on all market related trends and developments.
  • Stay abreast of and reports on competitive activity on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all marketing initiatives are effective, timely, and in alignment with client needs.
  • Ensure machinery bad debt and policy allowance write-off do not exceed forecast.
  • Work within and promote Empire's corporate values.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Extensive knowledge of Service, Parts, and Sales .
  • Ability to be acknowledged Empire expert for the assigned market.
  • Ability to build strong teams and manage people effectively.
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel and related sales business systems.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Caterpillar Mining Products, Mining industry, and Mining clients.
  • Strong financial skills to include management of income statements, capital expenditures, and balance sheets.
  • Strong analytical skills to include excel and access knowledge, CRM and Project Management.
  • Strong client knowledge and service skills.
  • Manages mining department assets.
  • Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance and work scheduled hours.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' previous sales management experience.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
