Job Description:

Position OverviewThe University of Kansas School of Law invites applications for both entry-level associate professor and lateral tenure-track/tenured professor candidates for three positions to begin in the Fall of 2025: (1) Criminal Law; (2) Health Law; and (3) Comparative Law/International Law/International Business Law. Secondary areas of curricular interest include Immigration Law, Jurisprudence, Conflict of Laws, and Torts. We invite a plurality of scholarly agendas, methodologies, and perspectives, ranging from traditional doctrinal to empirical to critical-analytical to interdisciplinary scholarship. In addition, we are especially interested in candidates who will regularly teach in the first-year curriculum or an equivalent large-enrollment upper-division course.

COLLEGIALITY - Faculty members are expected to meet satisfactory standards of performance in all three areas of responsibility and to carry out those responsibilities in accordance with the Faculty Code of Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.Additional Candidate InstructionsThe Faculty Appointments Committee will begin review of lateral candidate applications on August 5, 2024. Review of entry-level candidates will begin August 26, 2024. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. Initial interviews will be conducted via Zoom. We will review candidate materials posted in the AALS Faculty Appointments Register (FAR), and invite applications from candidates not participating in the FAR. We will conduct finalist interviews on the Lawrence campus.
