Network Telecommunications Services supports all aspects of SwRI's enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure. This includes core routing, switching, wireless, unified communications, inside/outside plant, network performance monitoring, video teleconference systems and event hosting.
Objectives of this Role:
Design and administer SwRI's video conference rooms and technologies.
Install and repair copper/fiber cabling and physical components of audio visual equipment.
Support Institute staff with videoconferencing and multimedia presentation meeting needs.
Schedule events; make technical and logistical arrangements for videoconferencing; coordinate and assist with meeting room arrangements and setups.
Design and upgrade video conference rooms.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Monitor existing AV deployment for issues and outages.
Repair or upgrade as needed.
Collaborate with teams from other IT disciplines to ensure delivery of AV/telecom services to support enterprise requirements.
Recommend, purchase, configure and deploy equipment for new requirements and as required to maintain currency of technical capabilities.
Create and maintain documentation and inventory of systems and equipment.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Extron training/certification preferred.
Shift work required.
5 years: Installation, operation and maintenance of audio visual and multimedia technologies
5 years: Installation of audio visual/network cabling and equipment
2 years: Configuration of control processors, signal processors, touch panels and other key components typical of an automated audio visual system
A valid/clear driver's license is required
Special Requirements:
