Job Description

  • Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, coordinating with other department where applicable, and obtaining approvals.

  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.

  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.

  • Participates in the generation of data collection tools, and enters and monitors tracking data as required by the grant program teams and/or funding organizations.

  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.

  • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.

  • Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

  • Prepares presentations by evaluating text, graphics, and binding and coordinating printing when needed.

  • Manages the collection and analysis of grant related data.

  • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.

  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Coordinate written and verbal presentations of progress reports, project findings, conclusions, recommendations, and learnings. Supply periodic project updates to leadership.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred in the field of public health or related field.

    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required, 2 to 3 years of relevant grant experience is preferred.

    • Must understand the grant lifecycle process and knowledge of grant writing (craft, construct, and submit an effective grant application) and grant making techniques, current trends, and best practices.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills. Able to plan, organize, and complete multiple grant proposals, projects, tasks and/or reports, meet deadlines and follow-up as required.

    • Ability to work under pressure, use independent judgment, and produce a quality grant submission within tight time constraints.

    • Proficient data analytic skills preferred.

    • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, organization skills are required.

    • Clinical and EPIC EMR knowledge and experience is preferred.

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and other programs

    • Experience with Smart Sheet is desirable.
