Why We Need You:

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Senior Product Analyst to join our community. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting complex quantitative analysis of property & casualty products to improve product performance and support PEMCO's and Product's initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Perform complex analysis to evaluate the performance of and identify trends and issues for our products and make actionable recommendations for improvements.

  • Plan and manage large-scale, complex projects with support.

  • Develop and implement analytical strategies as a partner to our Product Managers and Actuarial team.

  • Create queries, dashboards, and tools for analyzing and tracking product success; identify enhancements and efficiency gains in data strategy and warehousing; consult on data fields, calculations, and methodology.

  • Document complex system workflows and business processes.

  • Compile and submit materials for rate filings.

  • Build tools and processes to create efficiencies, especially in analyzing metrics.

  • Assist in product and rating reviews, including making pricing recommendations.

  • Communicate analysis with business stakeholders to understand its value.

  • Assist less experienced analysts as needed or assigned.

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:


  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (economics, business, information technology, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field of study) is required

  • Graduate or other professional degree or equivalent work experience is preferred

  • 3 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is required

  • 6+ years of experience in analytical roles with increasing scale, scope and complexity involving pricing insurance products or similar work including experience in integrating, managing and manipulating large data files from various corporate systems and external sources is required


  • Problem Solver: Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex unstructured problems quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively is required


  • Presenter: Organizes data visually and speaks clearly and persuasively in group presentations and meetings with multiple peer groups and senior management is required


  • Precision: Is detail orientated and has a strong desire for accuracy and thoroughness is required


  • Organized: Has excellent time management skills and easily manages multiple tasks, activities, and projects is required


  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required


  • Job specific: Proficiency in SQL, SQL Server, and data visualization is required


  • Job specific: Ability to demonstrate high level of skill in quantitative modeling, knowledge of data structures and ability to write complex SQL queries is required


  • Independent: Is highly self-motivated and directed. Demonstrates the ability to work with limited direction, communicates relevant information to the appropriate levels during times of uncertainty is required


  • Highly Analytical: Is passionate about working with disparate datasets bringing data together to answer business questions. Collaborates to create, manage, and translate data to meaningful insights. Can work with external vendors to integrate data for analysis; knows how to build efficient and scalable infrastructure and data models is required


  • Compliance: Possesses knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations is required


  • Communicator: Communicates clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required


  • Analytical and data-driven: Thinks analytically; a structured thinker who can put complex ideas into clear frameworks; uses data to conduct root cause analysis and develops high quality, consumable, and consistent metrics that drive strategic objectives and priorities is required


  • Job specific: Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau is preferred

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.


  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $100,668-$123,038.  The full pay range is $83,889-$139,816.

  • Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $88,847-$108,591.  The full pay range is $74,034-$123,390.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Benefits:

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:


  • covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.

  • eligible to participate in PEMCO’s 401(k) plan which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums). 

PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:


  • Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure

  • Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire

  • Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.

  • Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual

  • In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty and employee volunteering in the community.

Other compensation depending on role, contributions, and performance may include:
