Clinical Assistant Professor, Business Law at University of Houston - Downtown in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

Strong preference will be given to applicants with:

• Previous experience teaching law at the university level, especially in an AACSB accredited program, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.


• A record of successful scholarly activity, including publications on law topics related to the programs offered in the College of Business. Preference will be given to applicants with a record, or the ability to achieve one, that would qualify the faculty member as a Scholarly Academic for purposes of AACSB accreditation.


• A master's or doctoral degree from an AACSB accredited program in addition to the J.D.

Teach courses in support of the College’s major programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The courses include international law, employment law, commercial law, supply chain management law, legal environment of business, and ethics.  Faculty are expected to teach courses offered at the primary campus located in downtown Houston, as well as off-campus locations located in suburban Houston.  The courses are offered during the day, on evenings, and weekends, as needed to serve the students and may include face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Additionally, clinical faculty are expected to participate in the areas of scholarship and service. (Examples of scholarship include peer-reviewed journal articles and paper presentations; service includes serving on committees.)
