Job Description:
Rathje Construction Co., a 60+ year family-owned heavy civil construction company located in Marion, IA is looking for a custodian be a key part of their team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in janitorial/custodial work in a commercial environment is preferable
- Have a valid driver’s license and qualify under the company’s insurance carrier when driving a company vehicle
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to read safety data sheets (SDS)
Essential Functions:
- Keep dispatch, restrooms, shop and storage areas clean on a daily basis; includes floors, rugs, windows, doors and walls
- Picks up shop and cleaning supplies as needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Keep grounds mowed on a regular basis, sprays weeds and pick up debris
- Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
- Assist shop personnel with projects as needed
- Occasionally mows on jobsites
- Occasionally sprays for weeds on jobsites
- Assists in the repair and maintenance of minor shop and building repairs
- Requires prolonged standing
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year round
- Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors
- Must be able to work in high places
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be a self-starter
Hours:
- Position is full time, Monday – Friday, mid-day to evening shift
Wage is negotiable based on experience
