Rathje Construction Co., a 60+ year family-owned heavy civil construction company located in Marion, IA is looking for a custodian be a key part of their team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in janitorial/custodial work in a commercial environment is preferable
Have a valid driver’s license and qualify under the company’s insurance carrier when driving a company vehicle
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing
Ability to read safety data sheets (SDS)
Essential Functions:
Keep dispatch, restrooms, shop and storage areas clean on a daily basis; includes floors, rugs, windows, doors and walls
Picks up shop and cleaning supplies as needed
Empty trash and recycling bins
Keep grounds mowed on a regular basis, sprays weeds and pick up debris
Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
Assist shop personnel with projects as needed
Occasionally mows on jobsites
Occasionally sprays for weeds on jobsites
Assists in the repair and maintenance of minor shop and building repairs
Requires prolonged standing
Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year round
Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors
Must be able to work in high places
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be a self-starter
Hours:
Position is full time, Monday – Friday, mid-day to evening shift
Wage is negotiable based on experience
