Uber Freight is looking for experienced professionals with a background in the Logistics Engineering field. Our specialist will work strategically with potential clients to gain an understanding of their specific supply chain challenges and to jointly explore supply chain improvement opportunities. In addition, the engineering group provides tactical decision-making services that bridge the gap between strategic planning and operational execution all while providing excellent customer service to our customers.
What the Candidate Will Do
Project Management
Gather customer requirements.
Schedule strategy calls with stakeholders
Scope project appropriately
Assign responsibilities to Sales or Ops
Engage Sales or Ops in projects
Coordinate Sales or Ops assignments with cross-functional teams, holding all participants accountable to project milestones and deadlines.
Customer Relationships
Communicate effective, prompt, detailed and courteous communications
Act as an expert adviser to the customer to inform them of options and recommend the best practice for the customer's supply chain
Internal Analytical Support
Execute batch mileage applications to calculate lane distances
Analyze consolidation savings for internal customers
Develop heuristics and incorporate into program
Statistical Analysis
Supply Chain Solutions
Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis of customers supply chain opportunities and challenges
Evaluate and design/model customer distribution network
Use advanced modeling to evaluate and optimize the customer's transportation and distribution network
Lane Benchmarking (Utilize Uber Freight market knowledge and leverage existing Uber Freight data, including procurement and that of external data sources)
Analyze and benchmark historical shipment data
Model supply chain network in propriety software
Opportunity Pricing
Analyze and benchmark historical shipment data
Coordinate pricing exercise with internal brokerage teams
Collect and evaluate responses from internal brokerage, determining validity
Determine validity utilizing statistical comparisons of benchmark data and final responses
Communicate anomalies and recommend appropriate changes
Compare benchmark and internal brokerage results and provide overall transportation savings opportunity through standard scenarios
Present savings opportunity to salesperson and make recommendation on final pricing results
Basic Qualifications
0 - 2 years of experience in a logistics engineering
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field OR High School diploma or GED equivalent, with minimum 4 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Freight Industry
Reporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand report, and offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)
Microsoft Excel— knowledge of Microsoft Excel including but not limited to VLookup, Pivot Tables and advanced formulas
Basic knowledge of optimization software
Basic Understanding of Supply Chain Management Principles & Strategies - Design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globally
Strong project management skills
Statistical representation of operations through detailed data analysis
Working Knowledge of relational database and SQL
