Southwestern Healthcare is currently seeking a full-time Development Coordinator to add to our team of professionals.  This position is located at our office in Evansville, IN.    The Development Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and applying for various grants, as well as soliciting funding from donors and/or other sources to meet the organizations’ needs.

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?


  • Identifying, cultivating, and fostering relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders to maximize contributions and sustain long-term support. 

  • Identifying potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, or other sources.

  • Building strategic partnerships with organizations and professionals through networking activities.

  • Directly soliciting major gifts and corporate sponsorships.

  • Conducting thorough research to understand grants criteria and potential grantors interests and priorities.

  • Coordinating writing, submitting and tracking grant proposals or application, letters of inquiry, other required documentation by grant’s deadline. 

  • Maintains calendar of grant reporting and funding deadlines.  Assists in the coordination of staff involved in proposals and report preparation to ensure deadlines are met. 

  • Analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating efforts, and problem solving.

  • Maintaining grant information and donor information in various databases.

WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?


  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, communications, marketing, or a related field.

  2. Minimum three years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or related field.

  3. Experience soliciting planned gifts preferred.

  4. Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.

  5. Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding.

  6. Advanced Microsoft Office suite competencies are required.

  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  8. Self-motivated team player that thrives on accomplishing goals, achieving results and improving organization’s bottom line.

  9. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  10. Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
