As part of the Treasury department, the Liquidity Management & Borrowing team has an opening for an Associate Manager.This team's core responsibility is to manage and execute the company's funding strategy. In this role, you will have hands on management of the systems and operational processes that support Prudential’s debt activities. This includes settlement of commercial paper, issuance and record keeping of affiliated loans, and maintenance of the external debt programs. You will also have opportunities to lead process improvement projects and develop technology driven solutions to improve efficiency and analytics. Collaboration with various internal and external business partners (e.g. Commercial Paper traders, Legal, Cash Management, Fixed Income, Issuing Paying Agents, and Trustees) is also expected.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

The position requires a start time of 8:00 AM and the flexibility to work additional hours, if needed.

What you can expect:


  • Oversight of daily Commercial Paper activity which includes the following:
    -Ensuring settlement issues related to debt transactions are resolved in a timely manner.
    -Reconciliation of daily commercial paper packages are accurate and complete.
    -Team is efficiently communicating funding needs to Capital Market’s traders.

  • Providing operational support to internal business partners to address their borrowing needs and ensure appropriate affiliate borrowing documentation is on file.

  • Initiating and managing the principal and interest payment process for external debt as well as affiliated transactions.

  • Reviewing areas of risk and define/implement security and control measures.

  • Participating in development, testing and implementation of enhancements to debt management system, ATOM, Treasurer’s Portal, and Borrowing Limit Database.

  • Assisting with the operational implementation, coordination, and settlement of new internal loan activity.

  • Assisting with review and enhancement of internal business processes, including leveraging technology to further automate processes.

What you'll need:


  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

  • 2-4 years related work experience in cash management, investment operations or finance.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to maintain an efficient processing environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with business partners, banks, and external service providers.

  • Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to daily production activity and projects.

  • Ability to conduct financial analysis for Prudential’s business units (i.e. trending and identification of cyclical patterns, variance analysis, cost benefit analysis, etc.).

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills to respond to inquiries and processing issues in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to cover other tasks on the team when needed.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets operations including short-term debt and investment instruments

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $90,100.00 to $134,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
