Job Summary
Job Description
Responsible for accounting practices, financial controls/budgets, cost, and general accounting for the Plant.
Manage the month-end closing process within a Shared Services model including the preparation and posting of a select number of journal entries. Review internal financial statements for errors before they are published.
Review, analyze and present the plant’s financial results, trends and metrics on a monthly basis to manufacturing location leaders, finance and non-finance leaders.
Review and track expenses and understand and investigate the drivers behind each (sales, production, absorption, product mix, adjustments, variance analysis). Review manufacturing processes, cost of materials, capex spend and location costs.
Own the budgeting process and forecasting processes.
Financial modeling, scenario-testing, ROI analyses to support decision making by senior leadership.
Collaborate and partner with product divisions and front line manufacturing staff to drive improved profitability
Ability to manage time effectively and adjust to shifting priorities.
Willingness to take on an increasing level of responsibilities.
Ad hoc projects and requests as needed.
Travel up to 25% - traveling to plant located in Laredo, Texas.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
At least 5 years experience in financial planning, reporting and/or analysis.
At least 1 year experience in cost accounting.
At least 1 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners.
Experience leading profit improvement initiatives.
Advanced skill level in Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Requirements
MBA
CPA
Project management experience.
At least 3 years experience in an accounting role.
Experience in any of these ERPs/tools: SAP, Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx.
Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly verbally and in writing.
