As a Quality Control Specialist, you'll be integral to maintaining robust security measures and ensuring compliance with critical infrastructure protection standards. In this role, you'll contribute to safeguarding our assets and supporting our mission to deliver reliable and efficient energy services.

In a collaborative environment, you'll lead initiatives to enhance our security posture and have a direct impact on our compliance efforts. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Conducting Internal Reviews: Regularly reviewing evidence to ensure adherence to internal controls and external standards.

  • Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with the Cyber Security team, Compliance department, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Document Management: Maintaining and updating documentation related to security and compliance.

  • Participating in Discussions: Engaging in technical discussions affecting security and compliance, providing expert guidance.

  • Training and Education: Offering training and support to employees on compliance standards and procedures.

  • Audit Preparation: Acting as a primary contact during audits, discussing potential findings, and recommending improvements.

To be successful as the Quality Control Specialist II or Senior , we're looking for:


  • Bachelor degree in computer science, business administration, or related field or equivalent technical experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree

  • Senior: Five (5) years of combined experience related to any one or more of the following:  Cyber security controls, IT process improvement, or IT test planning and execution

  • Level II: Two (2) years of combined experience related to IT, Security Control Methodologies, Business Process Improvement, and/or IT Technical Writing

  • Communication skills and ability to deal on a regular basis with stakeholders as well as with regulators

  • The exercise of independent judgment without fear of reprisal

  • Documentation skills with attention to detail

  • A wide range of skills including: strong oral and written communications; testing; project management; and strong inter-personal skills

  • Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • General understanding of industry compliance requirements

  • Understanding of, compliance with, and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedure

Preferred: 


  • Experience with IT domains such as networking, firewalls, asset management, access management, etc.

  • Experience with security controls and/or NERC CIP requirements

  • Experience with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)

  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python)

  • Experience with non-functional testing as it relates to IT systems

  • Experience with IT technical writing

  • Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools/platforms

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Understanding of, compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.

Work Location: 

This is a onsite hybrid (2-3 days in office) position located in Little Rock, Arkansas, with the possibility of remote work being approved for senior-level applicants initially living outside of a 50-mile radius.

Travel Requirement:

This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
