Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

Drive liquefied gas-powered forklift truck to move products, or materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Move levers and press pedals to drive the forklift and control the movement of the lifting apparatus.


• Transport pallets of finished or unfinished products to and from the production line according to established routine while maintaining a pace to ensure adequate material supply and removal of materials.


• Position the forks under loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transport the load to the designated area as determined by supervisor.


• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.


• Remove tickets from unfinished product pallets and record production information for the supervisor.


• Load or unload materials onto or off trucks and transport them to the appropriate area.


• Perform daily forklift maintenance checks and replace liquefied gas tank as needed.


• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with few concrete variables in standardized situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.


• Positive and Verifiable Work History.


• Must obtain and maintain an OSHA approved forklift certification.


• Must successfully complete the EPA/DNR Hazardous Waste Handling and Storage training program.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
