Job Title: Maintenance Technician III

Department: Acton Maintenance - Equipment

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician III is a critical contributor in a mission that truly represents a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to join a company that is making significant investments in establishing US manufacturing, expanding internationally, and delivering a consistent cadence of product innovations to the market and investing in its people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for repairs, maintenance, and process improvements of highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product.

This individual will be trained and cross-trained to repair issues across a variety of technologies including heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling and testing, robotic automation, metal stamping and bending, form/fill/seal medical packaging, and high-speed discrete component assembly. In addition to equipment repair and maintenance, this individual will be responsible for the product quality performance of the equipment and advanced machine troubleshooting in the event of faults and machine stops. The candidate will work closely with maintenance management and engineering to create processes that will enhance machinery OEE. This position requires mechanical aptitude, technical ability, strong machine troubleshooting, problem- solving skills, basic machine shop practices and the willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a cGMP compliant environment and operate within FDA guidelines for 21CFR820
manufacturing.
• Follow all policies and procedures including safety and quality standards.
• Perform equipment setup, operation, repair, and weekly preventative maintenance tasks to
meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. These tasks must be completed under
minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems on equipment.
• Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection, and
lubrication) as necessary.
• Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately
communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs,
operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.)
• Collaborate with manufacturing and corporate representatives to help create and execute
preventative maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and corporate representatives to help resolve complex quality,
process, or safety defects.
• Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues, or general operating inefficiencies with assembly production processes.

• Create standard work procedures for the setup and maintenance of assembly equipment.
• Champion process improvement in assigned areas though rigorous data analysis (MTBF,
Corrective Maintenance, sources of waste, etc.) and root cause analysis.
• Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change over.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines.
• This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned as an individual contributor, or as a participant on cross functional teams, as well as be able to utilize tools to inspect, repair and maintain equipment.
• Work with Engineering on process improvement initiatives, OEE goals and OPL's
• Machine parts according to print for repair or engineering trials

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 5+ years of direct experience in working with, assembling, debugging, and optimizing
automated assembly equipment. Application of in-depth technical knowledge in the areas of assembly processes and techniques.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and use of MS Office applications.
• Follow all policies and procedures including safety and quality standards.
• Demonstrated problem solving approach using DMAIC, PDCA, or other RCA tools.
• Competent with Pareto Charts, Fishbone diagrams, and 5 why problem-solving techniques.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Engineering Technician Diploma or Associates Degree.
• Familiar with specific manufacturing processes such as mechanical swaging, ultrasonic welding, heat staking, laser welding, electronic controls, and precise component assembly.
• Familiar with typical sensors on automated equipment including pressure switches, inductive sensors, photoelectric sensors, reed switches, LVDT, and load cells.
• Experience with high-speed filming equipment
• Technical knowledge of cam driven linkages, discrete component assembly and automation
• Sound hands-on technical ability with assembly methodologies including locational methods, setup at assembly, pneumatic actuators, servo motors, limit switches, robotics, steels, plastics,belting methods etc.
• Familiarity with HMI's / GUI's (Machine user interfaces)
• Working in a clean room environment
• Knowledge and experience with post-implementation continuous improvement efforts and
methodology
• Experience in a start-up production environment
• Machine shop background

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $25.96 - $39.01. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
