Masters Competitive Swim Coach - YMCA of the North Shore - Multiple locations at YMCA of the North Shore in Beverly, Massachusetts

Are you a natural leader with a competitive drive? Do you have a background in swimming or aquatics that you want to bring to the next level?  This may be the opportunity for you! The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Swim Coaches to join our SHARKS team.

As a Swim Coach you will help lead and inspire swimmers through high-quality instruction that fosters a joy for developing and participating in the sport of swimming. The SHARKS is a YMCA/USA Swim Team located in Beverly, Gloucester, and Marblehead along the North Shore near Boston. We are a 3-site team with up to 70 Masters Swimmers between 3 training locations.  On a regular day you will conduct group practices, analyze swim techniques and determine skill levels, develop individualized swimming programs, educate swimmers on various techniques and styles, and oversee training.

To thrive in this position you have coached competitive aquatics and have a thorough understanding of stroke technique.  You create skill-level appropriate work-outs and have excellent communication with swimmers, staff, and the community in strict accordance with safe sports regulations.

 The YMCA of the North Shore Sharks Swim Team, with training sites in Beverly, Gloucester, and  Marblehead, is looking for part-time swim coaches for our Masters Level Team. 

• Hours for these positions vary by site and can include early mornings and early evenings Sunday through Friday. 


• Any training and coaching certifications will be covered by the YMCA. 


• Compensation depends on experience. 

Candidates should have:

•  2 years of swim coaching experience or experience as a competitive swimmer


•  Knowledge of stroke technique


• The ability to write workouts


•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude
