Type: Full-Time





Job Description:

Will be responsible for working autonomously to complete routine maintenance and cleaning of the facilities and equipment located at the Sarkeys Fitness Center, as well as other facilities to include Murray Case Sells Swim Complex, Tennis Courts, and Recreational Fields, as necessary.



Duties: 



  • Cleans, sweeps, and dusts furniture and equipment.

  • Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse.

  • Mops, sweeps, waxes and polishes floors. 

  • Maintains and sanitizes lavatories and rest rooms.  Restocks lavatories and rest room paper products.

  • Locks and unlocks offices, classrooms, and conference areas in order to clean. Contacts with others are of a routine nature.

  • Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable. 

  • Rearranges furniture to original positions in lounges and common areas.

  • May shovel snow from doorways and sidewalks.

  • Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position.   


Required Education: None 



  • 6 months of custodial or housekeeping experience.




Skills:



  • Understanding of recreational setting

  • Knowledge of exercise equipment

  • Verbal and written skills


Advertised Physical Requirements:




  • Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, odors, and hazardous chemicals, lifting, working on ladders, and carrying loads up to 50 pounds. 

  • Repetitive motions, stooping and bending.

  • Prolonged standing and walking; constant exposure to loud noises.

  • Performs shift work. 


Department Preferences



  • Maintenance of fitness equipment or similar items

  • Custodial experience

  • Technical experience in building and mechanical trades

  • Computer skills

  • Customer service skills

  • Power tool usage


Supervision:



  • Will report directly to Maintenance Coordinator of facility and will work collaboratively with a team.
