Position Summary: The Senior Accountant's role has a variety of assigned responsibilities within the department.



Principal Duties
:

  • Reporting of Sales and Use tax to various assigned jurisdictions. Follow up on necessary amendments.
  • Preparing weekly wire transfers with bank up documentation for approvals in banking system.
  • Reconciling assigned bank accounts.
  • Reconciling intercompany balances and resolving any differences with intercompany partner.
  • Posting assigned journal entries at the end of each month.
  • Enter low volume of accounts payable as necessary.
  • Research exceptions to sales tax on vendor invoices when notified by Vertex and SAP system monitoring. Approx 12 hours per week.



Education and Experience
:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field and at least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience reporting multi state sales and use tax reports.
  • Strong understanding of sales and use tax, general accounting entries and reconciliations of various types of accounts.
  • Knowledge of foreign currency translation and hedging procedures or strong ability to learn and self-educate.

  • Required: Use of SAP
  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Required: Experience reconciling multiple foreign currency bank accounts.
  • SAP Finance/Accounting experience
  • Understanding of Accounts payable and relation to purchase orders and receipts. (Three way match.)
  • Experience working in companies with revenue above $50m per year.

Physical Requirements
:




1. Sitting for Extended Periods

  • Office workers often spend a significant portion of their day sitting at a desk, working on a computer or handling paperwork. Ergonomic furniture and regular breaks are important to prevent discomfort or injury.

2. Computer Use

  • Prolonged computer use can strain the eyes, wrists, and back. Proper monitor height, keyboard placement, and chair support are essential to reduce these risks.

3. Fine Motor Skills

  • Typing, writing, and handling small office equipment (like staplers, printers, etc.) require fine motor skills and manual dexterity.

4. Reaching, Bending, and Lifting

  • Office workers may need to reach for files, bend to access lower drawers, or lift small to moderate-weight objects (e.g., boxes of paper, office supplies).

5. Walking/Standing

  • Although the job is mostly sedentary, some walking and standing may be required, such as moving between offices, attending meetings, or delivering documents.

Location and work hours: 40 hours per week, 8 am to 5 pm with flexibility to work occasional extra hours if necessary. Onsite 5 days per week.
