JOB SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for exercising safe driving practices ensuring their safety and the safety of the public. Responsible for operating commercial motor vehicle with a capacity of 24 tons of product, gross weight of 40 tons, to deliver feed to specific farms in North & South Carolina in a safe and secure manner. The average round trip distance is 85 miles, normally four loads in the 12-hour period.

This position reports directly to Shift Supervisor. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing these duties, the driver will climb the steps to the dispatch office at least four times daily, possibly more. The driver may have to climb the feed bin to open the bin lid and may have to climb the feed bin to close the lid (bin height approximately 20 feet). Driver may have to climb on top of trailer to open top lids. This will require walking the length of the trailer (40 feet) on a cat walk to complete the lid opening.
