Job Description:

Job Title: Maintenance Technician 7a-7p or 7p-7a

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Lead / Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Back Up: Maintenance Lead

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • It is the responsibility of all employees, regardless of department or position to report to management, situations that may compromise product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Interfaces daily with Maintenance Lead to plan and implement work priorities.

  • Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing of the all facility equipment and buildings.

  • Uses the company CMMS to schedule, track and log the details of all work issued from the work order system.

  • Monitors the proper use of Lockout / Tagout and other safety systems as required by the company.

  • Works with Maintenance Lead to plan PM schedules and upcoming projects, assigning workload and issuing work orders to all maintenance technicians.

  • Works directly with vendors and contractors to resolve maintenance related issues within the facility or on the equipment.

  • Orders parts and materials as needed to support PM's, projects, etc.

  • Attends Daily Production meetings during absence of Facility Engineer and maintenance lead.

  • Completes all required paperwork, filing and purging as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency

  • Adhere to Product Safety Program (GMP)

None.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

5 to 7 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have good computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete reports and forms associated with the position: Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
