Job Description Summary



Receives instructions from the warehouse lead and utilizes the knowledge of plant and warehouse operating procedures to expeditiously and effectively carry out assignments driving a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift and clamps to lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials. Must maintain supplies to production as well as transfer packaged product to or from cold storage areas.



Job Description





  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.






  • Inspects the lift truck prior to operation and reports any deficiency.






  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.






  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.






  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.






  • Inventories oil on work floor and fills out oil report daily. Supplies plant with oil by means of pumping to or from railcars or trucks and fills out reports for inventories.






  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed.






  • Loads and unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices as needed.






  • Transports finished goods to or from Americold.






  • Supplies packaging with bulk blend, knock down cases, paper, etc.






  • Sorts and stacks excess bulk and finished product.






  • Stacks good or restricted cased product and supplies rework crew with restricted product






  • Maintains bulk repacks.






  • Replaces cases opened by Q.A.






  • Maintains adequate empty totes for all bulk-off stations.






  • Supplies pallets to the palletizing area.






  • Reports all equipment failures and mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.






  • Understand and follows Lamb-Weston Lockout/Tagout Procedures.






  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.






  • Changes batteries on lift truck when required.






  • Performs other functions and duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.






  • Be able to climb up or down oil cars, open rail car doors, inspect railcars, and start railcar refrigeration units.






  • To load or unload railcars and trucks in accordance with company procedures.






  • Able to hook up and disconnect hoses to load or unload railcars or trucks of oil in accordance with company procedures.






  • Have basic knowledge of using a computer to use warehouse programs for inventory purposes, product location.





Basic & Preferred Qualifications




Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)




  • High School Diploma preferred.





Skills and Experience:




  • Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).






  • Must have good communication skills oral and written.






  • Must have mathematical skill for oil usage, weights and total number of units.






  • Able to work with other employees or by alone with little or no supervision.






  • Must be able to memorize product codes, labels, and bulk lot numbers.




Physical Environment/Demands:




  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.






  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold in the freezer. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.

A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.24
