ISS STOXX is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Governance Research Analyst to join our Governance Research team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality, objective governance research and recommendations. Trusted by institutional investors globally, our team applies corporate governance perspectives, identifies ESG risks, and manages comprehensive proxy voting requirements. As a senior analyst, you'll enhance your governance expertise through specialized training and exciting career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of analysts, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the delivery of accurate and insightful governance research.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of U.S. market corporate governance issues, including director elections, executive compensation, shareholder proposals, and more. Apply ISS STOXX policies and create comprehensive research reports for publicly traded companies.
  • Respond to internal and external queries, offering detailed discussions on policy issues and governance trends. Communicate complex findings in clear, concise reports tailored to institutional investors.
  • Collaborate on research policy updates and initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance report content and improve internal processes.
  • Distill critical financial and corporate governance information from SEC filings (e.g., 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, DEF 14As) for use in ISS STOXX proxy vote recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with substantial professional experience in research, corporate governance, law, economics, investment stewardship, accounting, or finance.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SEC filings and a deep understanding of corporate governance issues.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
  • A team-oriented attitude, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to professional growth and development.
