Position Summary: The Regulatory Compliance Technician performs all work associated with Pike’s Regulatory Compliance Department and some work associated with safety, company-wide.
Essential Functions:
Effectively speak in front of large groups.
Able to work irregular schedules and travel away from home for extended periods, when required.
Must be able to work outdoors and subject to environmental and climatic elements year round.
Work with field supervision to schedule training and assist with other compliance needs.
Able to be involved with the inspecting of storage tanks.
Must be available to assist in the transporting of Commercial Motor Vehicles.
Assist in storm trouble operations.
Assist the Regulatory Compliance Manager as needed.
Willing and able to perform physical labor.
Satisfactorily complete all certifications required for this job position.
Must become certified as an instructor in areas including, but not limited to CPR/First Aid Training, Flagging/Work Zone Traffic Control, Forklift Training, Respiratory Training, and Decision Driving Training.
Must become certified as a Specimen Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician for administering and collecting drug and alcohol tests.
May be required to become certified as a CDL Third Party tester in the state of residence, and must maintain all assigned CDL courses, files, send proper records to the state DOT, and meet with state DOT officials during audits and reviews.
Instruct in other areas of compliance including Hazardous Materials, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communications and other state and federal mandated training when needed.
Perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s safety rules, regulations and best work practices.
Follow oral and written directions.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with State DOT officials, supervisors, crew members, public and some customer contact.
Report all unsafe conditions and practices to Regulatory Compliance Manager and regional Safety Director.
Maintain records and submit reports as required by Company.
Must be able to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in accordance with regulations and policies.
Other Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience preferred.
Competent in computer skills and computer applications.
Possess a state CDL Class A driver’s license or ability to obtain CDL and medical card within employment probationary period.
