Overview



Lovebirds Café, located in the reimagined Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, which will relaunch as The Sunny, Miami's new premier beachside retreat, is looking for a Lead Barista with a genuine passion for coffee.


Our baristas are the heart of Lovebirds Café. As a Barista, you are skilled in connecting and creating moments and an expert at creating handcrafted delicious beverages .You work together to create a welcoming café environment, while bringing our mission and values to life - for our customers and each other.



Position Overview



As a Lead Barista, you will be responsible for crafting delicious coffee beverages and food items while providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

• Training and Development of team


• Completing inventory


• Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients.


• Upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, or merchandise.


• Able to assist guests with product selections


• Ability to create a wide array of food and beverage offerings.


• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication.


• Available to perform many different tasks within the Café during each shift.


• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee machines and equipment.


• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of our products.


• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lead Barista or in a similar role is preferred


• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment


• Familiarity with various coffee beans and blends helpful


• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area


• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays


• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques


• Prior cash handling experience
