We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Tax team!
The Property Tax Specialist I is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of the property tax cycle.
As a Property Tax Specialist, you will:
Administer each step of the property tax cycle timely and accurately through the following:
Prepare basic property tax return filings for all assigned jurisdictions
Compare assessed value notices to rendered values and protest values with jurisdiction where applicable; enter agreed values in property tax software
Process tax bill payment to jurisdictions and upload of data to invoice the lessee
Produce and reconcile asset reports produced from the leasing system at each rendition date for import into property tax software with assistance
Grasp the use of appropriate general ledger tax accounts to complete and input accurate property tax journal entries for review
Answer basic property tax questions from internal team members and/or external customers with limited assistance
Monitor team Salesforce queue consistently and timely respond to internal property tax questions for assigned states
Communicate directly and professionally with taxing jurisdictions regarding basic property tax matters
Update and maintain power queries for team reports. Assist with creation of basic power queries as needed
Proactively participate in strategic projects as assigned
Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external as well as internal customers
To be successful in this role you will need:
Education
Two or Four-year accounting or finance degree required; equivalent accounting/financial record keeping related experience will be considered
Experience
Prior leasing, property tax, or related experience helpful but not required
Computer Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products, primarily Word and Excel
General experience with property tax software preferred but not required
