SUMMARY



The Information Assurance Engineer assists with the digital security including building digital security protocols, maintaining an IT security infrastructure and managing computer systems and networks security. Design new system architecture, identifying security threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software, then apply their skills to defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats and all types of cybercrime.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Provide cyber security support to the Program Management Office in charge of the Police Center (POLC) RMS, CAD, Omni 911, and Fire and Emergency Management applications at Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).


Analyze ACAS scans, provide feedback and status briefings to government on findings.


Attend cyber security weekly meetings and pass on relevant and/or actionable information to Government and Application administrators.


Work closely with application administrators to effectively remediate findings, obtain target dates for resolution, plan patch outages and reboots, and system rescans.


Triage remediation and mitigation actions and coordinate between application teams, vendors, government program managers and DLA enterprise technical support entities.


Maintain multiple system Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs), updating status of findings, remediations, mitigations on a monthly basis.


Write and/or draft Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, including the S-CONOP, FIPS-199, Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Cybersecurity Questionnaires, HW/SW lists, network and data flow diagrams, and RMF control text responses, upon request from the Government PMO and ISSM.


Develops biweekly briefings and briefs PMO leadership and DLA Cybersecurity on system POAM and cyber security developments.


Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) both for themselves, their employees, and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they and their employees will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of security engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION




JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES



Experience performing complex technical implementations with cyber security responsibilities.


Knowledge of information security best practices (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2).


Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, bash).


Demonstrated Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory administration.


General Cisco switch knowledge including WAN concepts.


General Virtualization experience including VMware, VCenter and Horizon View.


Linux administration experience - Red Hat and/or Ubuntu preferred.


Experience with Azure or AWS (GCC / Govcloud) based solutions.


Demonstrated competencies in cyber security technologies (Forcepoint, SentinelOne, CASB).


Experience performing incident remediation for cyber security incidents.


Experience establishing and planning information security policies.


Strong knowledge in MS office to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software suites.


Excellent communication skills.


Solid organizational skills relevant to carrying out day-to-day responsibilities.


Skilled in planning and setting up room requirements for events and meetings.


Proficient in verbal, written and listening skills.


Exceptional customer service skills.


Detail-oriented with ability to effectively multi-task.


Ability to learn and apply new knowledge in a fast-paced environment.


Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.



LANGUAGE SKILLS



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professiona1journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



REASONING ABILITY



Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
