Job Description:

SUMMARY


The EHS&S Manager develops and promotes the business unit's environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. Reporting to the Global Director of Operations, this manager leads the EH&S and Sustainability teams to drive continuous improvement in safety, incident reporting, and corrective actions. The role also focuses on reducing environmental waste, enhancing recycling practices, and cutting energy use to lower GHG emissions and the company's carbon footprint. Additionally, the manager collaborates with stakeholders to align the organization's EH&S and ESG goals.


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES


* Oversees the overall execution, mission, and efficacy of the EHS&S programs.
* Collaborates with appropriate departmental managers to facilitate performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


* Coordinate and improve safety and sustainability activities across sites, focusing on continuous improvement through corrective and preventive actions.
* Support Near Miss programs and share best practices across sites.
* Report key metrics and ensure timely compliance with sustainability data reporting, including waste, energy, and water usage.
* Facilitate and align site goals with business unit safety and sustainability objectives.
* Lead and coordinate cross-site audits of safety and sustainability programs.
* Track site focus and compliance with ISO14001 and ISO50001 environmental standards.
* Report on sustainability programs to the CIT executive team and seek their input.
* Develop KPIs, audit processes, and procedures, lead implementation across regions and functions.
* Analyze and enhance company policies and processes for safety and sustainability improvements.
* Evaluate sustainability proposals for cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and integration.
* Maintain documentation, budgets, and financial records; prepare project funding documentation.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations.
* Identify and facilitate necessary training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE


* Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master's degree preferred
* Three to five years of business and management experience required

* Working knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001
* Strong project management skills

* Ability to analyze and understand research and to identify relevant and valuable information.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; ERP software (SAP), and utilizing manufacturing equipment such as micrometers, viscometers, etc.
* Ability to create, interpret, and execute a budget.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
* Must be able to navigate a variety of settings as needed to identify environmental sustainability issues and solutions.


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS


* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
* Hearing protection in specific locations.
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
