POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) as it directly relates to Commercial Cryocooler Production and Engineering by providing technical ovesight to activities and ensuring complaince with process and doucmentation control. This position works as part of the Quality Assurance Team and will report to the Quality/EHS Manager. This position works closely with Engineering Technicians, Assembly Technicians, Manufacturing Leads, and Engineering staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION

  • Four-year Engineering or Industrial Technology Degree preferred, equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • Minimum 3 years Quality Engineering experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical/technical processes.
  • Experience writing technical and/or process documents.
  • Experience reading technical specifications and processes, engineering drawings and descriptions as they relate to engineering designs, process flow, manufacturing techniques and quality standards, ISO experience is highly desirable.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Must have the ability to lead and organize others and work with cross-functional groups.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical background and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to understand and condense complex technical concepts into concise terms to convey information to the target user in written or multimedia formats.
  • Ability to receive and follow work instructions precisely while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office experience (i.e, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
  • Presents positive impact within the Quality Assurance team and other work groups.

  • Comply with all EHS Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of the AMT QMS.
  • Support QMS efforts to maintain ISO 9001 Certification and achieve AS9100 Certification.
  • Active participation with non-conforming material coordination and resolution.
  • Active participation with the change and release of engineering documentation.
  • Active participation with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action processes, including interfacing with external customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Active participation in customer-specific contract and product design reviews.
  • in-process quality problems, continuous improvement of process control activities
  • Implement continuous improvement product and/or process systems that prevent quality issues with cross-functional team support.
  • Serve as a member of the Sunpower Quality Internal Audit Team.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, process flows, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write detailed, step-by-step work instructions and process documents. Ability to speak effectively with individual employees and before groups of employees. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
