Job Summary

To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an  EH&S, Engineer located in Virginia, Henrico.  

Reporting to the EH&S Manager  the  EH&S, Engineer role will be in charge of developing, implementing, and monitoring company environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with corporate as well as local, state and federal regulations. Accident-free, healthy work.

What a typical day looks like:

• Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs.


• Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to define if all safety precautions have been included.


• Tours plant to inspect fire and safety emergency equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.


• Support reviewes and analysis to define requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment, and designs, builds, and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.


• Conducts or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency protocols, safety policies, OSHA and site specific requirements practices.


• Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.


• Conducts industrial hygiene tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.


• In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.


• Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.


• Audits business units.


• Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.


• Compiles and submits sustainability data for monthly reporting.


• Administers workers compensation, OSHA 300 and 300 A log and return to work program.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environment or Health Sciences or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines.


• Prior experience 2-4 years in EH&S within a manufacturing environment is preferred.


• EH&S Auditing experience is a preferred


• ISO 14001, ISO 45001


• Risk assessments


• Root cause analysis


• Investigation


• Machine guarding safety


• Lock out Tag Out


• Microsoft office Suite of tools.


• Learning Management Systems (e.g. JJ Keller, Gen Suite).


• Manufacturing experience
