SUMMARY OF POSITION
Guest Services Associates are passionate about providing exceptional guest service. Professional and communicative, Guest Services Associates make or change reservations, share their knowledge of the local region and assist guests with any questions or concerns that arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Handles multiple telephone lines, takes reservations, assists guests with information, dinner reservations, tours, etc.Maximizes revenue for the inn by selling top rates and other services of the inn.Keeps current with property descriptions, room types, amenities, dcor and rates, as well as packages and promotions.Accepts and processes room reservations, greets, registers and assigns rooms to incoming guests and checks out departing guests.Keeps accurate records of current and future room availability and guests accounts. Computes bill, collects payment, makes change for guests.Assists with on-line availability as requested.Receives and transmits messages and mail for guests and company.Is very knowledgeable about local area information including restaurants, wineries, shops, activities, etc and helps guests make reservations, fulfill special requests and offers directionsStays up to date on upcoming activities in their region in order to assist guest with planning their stay.Follows established front desk policies and procedures.Uses excellent guest relations, telephone, computer, and room sales skills, keeping current with promotional programs.Brings to the attention of the Assistant Manager or Manager any extraordinary items which may require follow-up, including any potential safety hazards.Establishes effective channels of communication with superiors, guests and co-workers.Works closely with the Housekeeping Department. Notifies Housekeeping of late check-outs, room moves, early check-ins, and special requests.Works closely with the Kitchen Department and notifies them of any changes or special requests.Is a positive team member helping to promote an excellent work environment and supporting co-workers.Applies common sense to resolve daily challenges.Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and encourages others to do the same.Exhibits a high degree of flexibility at all times as may be necessary to assist with cleaning, food preparation while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.Develops knowledge of other Four Sisters Inns and is familiar with the staff, services, hours of operation and works within the five core values of Four Sisters Inns.Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common-sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.Ensures health and safety controls are followed at all times and attends the mandatory quarterly safety meetings for the hotel set forth by Four Sisters Inns.Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and the five core values and encourages others to do the same.Any other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
In the absence of the manager, the Guest Services Associate is responsible for activities at the hotel and may direct housekeepers, maintenance, and other staff as needed.Must maintain good communications with all staff to encourage positive working relationships.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This may be waived in certain rare circumstances.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and other employees of the organization, purveyors, guests, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with general mathematical concepts.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
