Your Role
As the Payroll Manager for North America, you will manage a team of 6 direct reports that are responsible for developing systems to process US & Canada payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments). You will identify and implement process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes. You will Oversee processing of payroll changes, (e.g. new hires, terminations, salary changes), system upgrades, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. You are responsible for interpreting day-to-day business objectives and preparation/execution of operational practices/work programs. As a leader, you will manage and coach payroll staff. You will report into the Head of North America Payroll and will be cross trained to develop your skills and support as needed. You will prepare work schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Additional responsibilities include:
Facilitate weekly team calls/meetings.
Monitor the workload and evaluate performance of direct reports
Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
Provide training and guidance to colleagues and new team members
Collaborate with Head of North America Payroll to create annual team objectives.
Defines standards and reusable approaches within the Payroll operational framework

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
5-7+ years US &/or Canada payroll experience
People Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of payroll tax filings, registrations, reciprocity rules and regulations
Fast paced customer service experience
UKG payroll and time and attendance systems
Oracle/SAP HR systems preferred.
Budget management and development
Experience in a shared service environment and solid understanding of HR cycles.
HR experience preferably in an operations environment preferred.
Ability to effectively manage team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team.
