Skills/Qualities
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience in applying them to various financial transactions and reporting requirements.
Several years of progressive experience in accounting roles, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and proficiency.
Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues, management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support and supervise a small accounting team.
Proficiency in using Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting purposes.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and preparing financial reports for management review.
Oversee or assist in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, monitoring aging reports, and managing collections or vendor payments as needed.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and proper classification of expenses.
Collaborate with other departments such as operations, and management to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and achieve organizational goals.
