Nemours is seeking a Facilities Planner, a Workplace Planner, or a Staff Interior Designer to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Workspace Planner will perform a wide variety of duties that utilize Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) in support of managing administrative spaces for our clinical and support departments. The Planner will work within the Capital Planning and Real Estate Department as a member of that team in delivering the highest level of customer service to the Nemours Enterprise. Position will be key leader in defining the scope to the end-user's project and validating the legitimacy of end-user requests. This is a hybrid-eligible role.
Responsibilities:
Manages Workspace Assignments for the Delaware Valley using our CenterStone database. Host initial meetings with End Users for Scope Definition and establishes goals for Capital Projects.
Work and communicate very closely with the assigned Construction Project Manager and Interior Designer for the specific projects needs.
Knowledge of three-dimensional spaces and architectural principles to perform a range of workspace planning exercises.
Coordinate with internal Real Estate team and external real estate brokers for leased space in the Delaware Valley.
Perform preliminary test fits, space plans, and create functional space programs to define workspace project scope. Office furniture specifications, ordering and installation coordination.
Master plan governance for all workspace capital projects. Champion for space and quality standards. Coordinate and manage long and short-term space planning needs.
Must have a collaborative work ethic and willingness to take initiative in creating systems that works within Capital Planning and Real Estate Department needs.
Knowledge of building codes, Design Guidelines and infection control issues. Keep current on codes/issues and evidence-based design research.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience required in Workspace Planning. Experience within a complex organization is strongly preferred.
If Architect or Designer has not already taken and passed professional accreditation exam(s), he/she will prepare and take ARE or NCIDQ exam within 12 months of hiring.
